The salsa and strips was so good and I would go back just for that. The burrito was huge and also very good. Seating inside and outside and the wait to get food was very short.

Barbie's Burrito Barn is this cute little, "hole-in-the-wall" type taco shop. It's a little hidden and tucked away, but once you arrive, you may have that "How did I not find this earlier?" feeling. They cater to a small menu of tacos, burritos, and tostadas, along with various sides and drinks. I might be missing something, but the menu really is that simple, and you shouldn't feel "order anxiety" when you eat there. The lady taking orders and making food I can only image was Barbie herself. She was very nice, and her place is charming. If that wasn't Barbie, then I may or may not have created an awkwardly long backstory in my head about the origin of this establishment's charm and ownership. Anyhow, I ordered a tostada that continued the restaurant's simple theme and was served on an adequate piece of parchment paper. No plates, no problem. Barbie's Burrito Barn is a rock-solid lunch spot next time you are in Charlottesville, Virginia!

Barbie is super friendly and attentive! The food was amazing, the guac tostada was piled high with beans, guac, radishes, cabbage and lettuce, and everything was very fresh. The hard taco and tostada shells were nice and crispy. The interior is small (14 seats total) and the outdoor eating area is right next to construction right now, but totally worth the trip to this sorta hidden gem.

Delicious and nutritious burrito bowl, enough to keep me full the entire day. Fresh ingredients and flavorful, highly recommend. Consistent every visit. Bridge construction has changed the area quite a bit in the last year. Totally worth navigating construction.

This is the kind of place I like, a little offbeat, lots of personality, a warm welcome, and tasty food. I’m not local, so I stumbled on this place accidentally, and I’m very glad that I did. I had one of the massive burritos, and I will not soon forget it. I will be back.
